Registered Dietitian's Office

The Registered Dietitian’s Office consists of both a registered dietitian and a nutritionist.

Penn State’s registered dietitian is responsible for the following key areas:
 

Education

  • Develops and directs nutritional compliance
  • Handles nutritional and wellness programming for all Penn State food service operations
     

Support

  • Ensures accurate nutrition and allergen information is available for all food items served by maintaining the nutritional database in the FoodPro software system
  • Supervises and trains student nutrition assistants
  • Responds to customer requests, concerns, and special needs with accurate and timely follow-up
     

The nutritionist reports to the registered dietitian and is responsible for the following areas:

Education

  • Hires, trains, and supervises student nutrition assistants
  • Conducts nutrition and wellness programming for Penn State food service operations
  • Assists with food allergen training and education
     

Support

  • Responds to customer requests, concerns, and special needs regarding food allergies, intolerances, and other dietary needs
  • Helps maintain accurate nutrition and allergen information for customers
